Description:
PLEASE NOTE: This listing has been updated with more information as of 11/6/09.

THIS IS NOT A DIECAST COLLECTIBLE! This is an actual, full-size, real-deal classic car - the first one to be offered for sale here on GoMotoBids.com.

This mean Z/28 clone originally rolled off the assembly line in 1969 as a cute little six-cylinder Camaro. But seven years ago the car underwent a restoration, and transformation, into the fire-breathing beast you see here. Out came the meek little six-banger, and in went a high-compression, high-revving, 4-bolt main, 302 cubic-inch small block. A Muncie four-speed replaced the original transmission, and a 12-bolt rear end was located and went out back.

The body was beautifully restored with a lot of new sheet metal and as little body filler as possible, then covered with dark Indigo Blue metallic paint and Arctic White rally stripes (DuPont acrylic enamel). The floor pans were also replaced with new full floors from parts supplier Classic Chevy.

The interior, trunk, and engine compartmenet all received the same treatment. The car is spotless inside and out, and has won multiple awards at nationally sanctioned shows such as the ISCA's World of Wheels and the Super Chevy Show. Since it's restoration it has been a pleasure driver and always garaged. Be sure you check out all of the pictures and the video that we've included in this listing.

Russ Dickey, our marketing director, has some experience with classic cars and gave these impressions after driving the car on a warm summer afternoon: "The car rode smoothly and drove as straight as any I've been behind the wheel of. The guys who restored the car did a great job in that everything looked and felt really solid. As far as performance, the car was as docile as any daily commuter until you put your foot into it, and then look out! During the short back-road blast that we did for the video, I was shifting well below the car's redline and it was still barking the tires in each gear. I was driving it for more than an hour during our photoshoots, and it never got hot. What I really love though is the fact that this car is perfect for guys like me who wants to drive their cars, versus keeping them locked away in a temperature controlled plastic bubble. It looks like a Z/28, it performs like a Z/28, but you could drive this car to go get a hamburger or even to work without the constant worry that your original investment-level Z/28 is going to get a paint chip."

Here are all the specifics:
