Welcome to the Fred Miller Collection at GoMotorBids. After almost four decades of being involved in racing, from many different aspects, Fred Miller has amassed an amazing collection of memorabilia and collectibles. He recently decided to "thin out” his massive cache, and we are proud to say that he has partnered with GoMotorBids.com to oversee the process. Every week you'll find some very unique pieces of memorabilia in this section, some of which have never before been made available to the general public. So, we encourage you to check back often!
Miller was the crew chief and main wrench on one of (if not the) most famous funny cars of all time – Raymond Beadle's Blue Max. "Waterbed Fred”, as he's become affectionately known to his racing friends, was part of an incredible team that racked up six World Championships, including a rare double-up in 1980 when the team won both NHRA and IHRA championships. In 2001 the team was inducted into the International Drag Racing Hall of Fame.
When Beadle decided to go NASCAR racing, Miller went with him, and got to be part of another incredible championship effort – Rusty Wallace's 1989 Winston Cup run. After a few years in NASCAR, Miller became involved in the beginnings of what would become the massive Diecast collectibles industry. He headed up the NHRA licensing efforts for the fledgling Racing Champions organization, and later on Action Performance.
But he just couldn't stay away from the thundering quarter mile, and in 2005 Miller was hired on as the Motorsports Manager for the Zantrex-3 Top Fuel dragster piloted by Dave Grubnic. Today, he owns and operates Fred Miller Motorsports, and is still heavily involved in lots of behind-the-scenes business deals in the racing industry.
